    This is a tutorial for uploading content to europeanpeaceaction.org. This page covers the basics and is all you need to know. If you have any further questions, please email admin@europeanpeaceaction.org and ask.

    Even if you're an HTML guru please read the below to make sure your content ends up on the right pages, galleries, etc.

    You can upload content without registering, but if you want to edit your texts in the future or be able to upload files to your texts, you should register and login first.

    Anyone can post content, but an editor has to publish the content before it goes live. If you want to become an editor, to be able to publish content directly, please write to admin@europeanpeaceaction.org  and present yourself.

    Don't forget to log out when you are finished if you are on a public computer!

    Publish News

    • Click the 'New story' tab at the top of the page
    • Choose language for the text
    • Write a title for the text
    • If you want to, you can upload an image with the text, by clicking the browse-button and choosing an image from your hard drive.
    • Choose Issue and Country. By holding the Ctrl-button you can select more than one Issue or Country from the list
    • If you want to, you can write one or more keywords for the text, separated by comma. These keywords will help related texts to link to each other
    • Write the actual text in the Body field. Click the ?-button if you need help with the text formatting.
    • Under Groups, you can choose one or more groups that the text relates to. The text will then link to that group's presentation page.
    • See the section about 'Adding downloadable files' about how to add files to your text.
    • Submit.

    Publish Documents

    • A document is a text with more information about a particular subject.
    • Click the 'New document' tab at the top of the page
    • Choose language for the text
    • Write a title for the text
    • Choose Issue. By holding the Ctrl-button you can select more than one Issue from the list
    • If you want to, you can write one or more keywords for the text, separated by comma. These keywords will help related texts to link to each other
    • Write the actual text in the Body field. Click the ?-button if you need help with the text formatting.
    • Under Groups, you can choose one or more groups that the text relates to. The text will then link to that group's presentation page.
    • See the section about 'Adding downloadable files' about how to add files to your text.
    • Submit.

    Publish Events

    • Click the 'New event' tab at the top of the page
    • Choose language for the text
    • Write a title for the event
    • Set the start and end time and date for the event. You can choose between writing the date and time in the textfield or clicking the calendar icon and choosing the dates from the pop up calendar. If your event doesn't have a particular start or end time, set the time to 00:00, and it will be hidden.
    • Choose Issue and Country. By holding the Ctrl-button you can select more than one Issue or Country from the list
    • Write a location, for example city, military base or area.
    • If you want to, you can write one or more keywords for the text, separated by comma. These keywords will help related texts to link to each other
    • Write the actual text in the Body field. Click the ?-button if you need help with the text formatting.
    • Under Groups, you can choose one or more groups that the text relates to. The text will then link to that group's presentation page.
    • Under Website title you can write the name of the website were people can find more information about the event. For example Ofog. Under Website URL you then write the actual address to the website, for example http://www.ofog.org/disarm08
    • See the section about 'Adding downloadable files' about how to add files to your text.
    • Submit.

    Publish information about your group

    • Click the 'New group' tab at the top of the page
    • Choose language for the text
    • Write a the name of the group under Title
    • Choose Issue you work with and in which country you are based. By holding the Ctrl-button you can select more than one Issue or Country from the list.
    • Under Email you can write your contact email address.
    • Write the presentation about your group in the Body field. Click the ?-button if you need help with the text formatting.
    • Under Website title you can write the name of your group. Under Website URL you then write the actual address to the website, for example http://www.ofog.org
    • Submit.

    Publish Images

    • Click the 'New image' tab at the top of the page
    • Choose language for the text
    • Write a title for the image
    • Upload your image by clicking the Browse-button and choose and image from your hard drive.
    • Choose Issue and Country. By holding the Ctrl-button you can select more than one Issue or Country from the list
    • If you want to, you can write one or more keywords for the text, separated by comma. These keywords will help related texts to link to each other
    • Optionally you can write a description of the Image in the Description field. Click the ?-button if you need help with the text formatting.
    • Under Groups, you can choose one or more groups that the image relates to. The image will then link to that group's presentation page
    • Submit.

    Publish Videos

    • Here you can publish videos from Blip.tv, Brightcove, Google, iFilm, JumpCut, Live Video, MetaCafe, MySpace, Revver, Sevenload and YouTube
    • Click the 'New video' tab at the top of the page
    • Choose language for the text
    • Write a title for the video
    • Choose Issue and Country. By holding the Ctrl-button you can select more than one Issue or Country from the list
    • If you want to, you can write one or more keywords for the text, separated by comma. These keywords will help related texts to link to each other
    • Cut and paste the web address to the video in the 'video' field. For example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ki40NPcR2lo
    • You can write a description of the Image in the Description field. Click the ?-button if you need help with the text formatting.
    • Under Groups, you can choose one or more groups that the video relates to. The image will then link to that group's presentation page
    • Submit.

    Translating texts

    Most texts on the site can be translated. In teh box to the right of the text, you can see the available translations, see for example http://europeanpeaceaction.org/welcome-european-peace-forum-malmo-focuss... When you are logged in, you can see the Translations link to the right of or under the headline of each text. If you click it you will see a long list of languages. Pick the one you want to translate the text into by clicking Create translation on the line of that language. Now you get to edit the text and translate. Remember to choose the right language at the top, before the Title. Translate the Title and Body fields and click Submit.

    Adding Downloadable Files (PDFs, etc) to Your Page

    To make a file, such as a PDF file or a document of some type, downloadable from a particular page you need to Attach it to that page. To do this:

    • Edit the page in question.

    • Click "File attachments" (just above the "Submit" button) to expand the file attachment stuff.

    • Click "Browse" and find the file and choose it.

    • Click "Attach" and wait for it to attach it

    • You will then have a new thing in the File Attachments area with tick boxes labelled "Delete" (unticked) and "List" (ticked) and a "Description" field which will have the name of the attached file in.

    • Change the description field to a short phrase, probably starting with the word Download.

    • Click "Submit"


    Editing or Deleting an Existing Page

    To edit or delete an existing page simply:

    • Make sure you are logged in

    • Go to the page you want to edit

    • Just under the title it will say "View" and "Edit".

    • Click "Edit". This gets you to the same form as when you created that page.

    • To edit the page: Make your changes then click "Submit"

    • To delete the page simply click the "Delete" button (next to the "Submit" button)
